Rural, Remote, Urban and Drone Photography. Website https://www.photographyrrudrone.com/ . Sample of photos from 2019 https://sunsetoverafrica.wixsite.com/tropiano2019 From Morawa to now. Photo developing & darkroom techniques were picked up at friend’s place while at school in Geraldton 1972-73 (I remember seeing Ernie Dingo on the grounds and overall being a jolly fellow). Early “professional” photography skills were developed while capturing fun and games with an SLR on black &white film at Kingswood College (now Trinity) University of WA 1974 on. Medical School years were a blend of sweat (study) and adventure for a lad from the farm bursting with energy. A laundry converted into a photo darkroom was a welcome bonus. There was always a camera or two on standby during the busy Medical Practice years. The recent full frame cameras (Nikon D5 and D850) are a joy to work with and we will be moving to the new mirrorless technology soon. I born in Morawa WA and spent my childhood / youth on a wheat and sheep farm. An intimate connection with the land and WA has been maintained. I will strive to remain engaged in creative ventures, community projects and evolving passions over the next 30 years. In the scheme of things, the past seems of minor consequence. Although my focus is on the present and well aligned to the future, reflecting back helps with the creative process. Plan is to write a short memoir and then move to writing a bit of fiction, incorporating belief systems, behavioural genetics and life in a warming earth. Writing is not my forte and Monika suggests I should stick to photography. I am a bit “wordy”. However, without being too pretentious, my style is a bit like Clive James’s in his “Unreliable Memoirs”. We even both have a fascination with Albert Camus. He quotes Camus “Tyrants conduct monologues over a million solitudes” . Says he would like a jacket and smoking style like him and die in a car crash. I definitely don’t want to die in a car crash, happy with my jacket was impressed with the smoking style of our medical supervisor in the lifts at Royal Perth Hospital mid 70’s! My other passions include, life in general, philosophy, design and construction of passive solar/energy efficient buildings, buildings that beat fires, land rehab, writing, plant propagation and cars, Western Australian landscape and people, plus “conventional travel” to name a few. "Without culture, and the relative freedom it implies, society, even when perfect, is but a jungle. This is why any authentic creation is a gift to the future". Albert Camus. Albert Camus. tial services as a couple with gloves and great care. It is still easy to overlook the basics as it takes a while to change the automatic part of regular behaviour. I was in shopping centre following the "no touch" protocol and Monika was wearing gloves. Then at Post Office I picked up a biro to write an address on stuff we were sending to Michael in Exmouth. "Crap" I just broke the rules. That was LAST WEEK..Despite spending a lot of time in operating theatres back in the days including in Africa, I still "broke" the rules last week. We all now must be extra vigilant.. Reckon Oz will be able to flatten that curve over next 4 weeks, then the path to recovery, social and financial.
